Using an airplane to ship a car to Europe would be a cool 60s move unless, say, you’ve secretly replaced the steel bodywork of your standard three-and-a-half ton Rolls Royce Phantom III with Nazi gold. While no one would likely notice on a ro-ro, the grossly overloaded Carvair would probably probably plunge straight into the Channel.

@hx9hggchrr :I was bummed you omitted my favorite scene where Goldfinger flies his car to Switzerland using British United Car Ferries. It’s the only screen appearance I am aware of for the ATL-98 Carvair— a plane that looks like a piston-powered 747. This was almost assuredly paid product placement.

I've been meaning to comment this but I keep forgetting so here goes: It's really funny that you keep bringing up how samey Connery's combat is in the films by calling it "Light attack & heavy attack" because that's exactly how the 2005 video game adaptation of From Russia With Love (starring Sean Connery) approached the character's Light & Heavy melee-attacks.
